Two Christmases ago, I was visiting my sister in Australia. She told me about the women in her choir — all smart, capable, around her age. Every one of them had a smartphone. And every one of them would phone the pizza store to order, because that’s what they knew.
They’d paid for the most powerful technology in human history and were using it like a cordless landline.
It’s not their fault. Nobody ever showed them.
That’s why this site exists.
What we do
We explain things the way we wish someone had explained them to us. Technology. Money. How the world actually works.
No jargon. No condescension. No assumption that you already know the basics. We start at the beginning and go from there.
Who’s behind it
Just someone who got tired of watching smart people being talked down to by experts who weren’t as smart as they thought.
Why “Basics”?
Because the basics are what everyone needs. Once you have a solid foundation, everything else is just details.
